The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for the recruitment of Stenographer Grade-II in the Assam Secretariat (Janata Bhawan) under the General Administration Department. The details are as follows:

Pay Scale:

  • Salary: ₹22,000 - ₹97,000 with Grade Pay of ₹9,400 per month (as per Assam State Government Rules)

Grade-II Post Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Must possess a Degree from a recognized university with proficiency in Stenography.
  • Age Limit:
    • Minimum 21 years, Maximum 38 years as on 01-01-2024 (Relaxation as per government rules).

Selection Process:

  1. Stenographer Proficiency Test (100 WPM for English, 90 WPM for Language)
  2. Objective Type Written Test:
    • English: 50 marks
    • Computer Knowledge: 20 marks
    • General Knowledge (Including Assam History): 30 marks

2. Register on the Portal

  • If you are applying for the first time, click on ‘Register Here’ and create an account using a valid email address and phone number.
  • After registration, a confirmation will be sent to your email.

3. Login to Your Account

  • Once registered, log in with your email and password.
  • You will be redirected to the dashboard where you can see live advertisements.

4. Find the Stenographer Grade-II Job Post

  • Look for the Stenographer Grade-II recruitment advertisement and click on the ‘Apply’ button.

5. Fill in the Application Form

  • Fill in all the required details, including:
    • Personal information (name, address, date of birth, etc.)
    • Educational qualifications (degree details)
    • Upload relevant documents (scanned photograph, signature, certificates) in JPG/JPEG format.
    • Ensure that the file size of the documents does not exceed 200 KB.

6. Upload Required Documents

  • Upload scanned copies of the following documents:
    • Passport-sized photograph
    • Signature
    • Educational certificates
    • Proof of age (Class X pass certificate/mark sheet)
    • Reservation certificates (if applicable)
